TipS
how to make a throwback custom roster
- Create All Teams Jerseys & Arenas
- Create 12F/6D/2G per team in the season you are replicating and assign them to the team they'd be tied to
- If too many players on the team assigned's roster. Move all current players to free agency and then dump in European/International/ECHL leagues.
- Once done a full team, copy those players from their team to the created team.
- Once all teams are done remove all AHL players 70+ overall or with a potential better than Med AHLTop6F/Top2D/Starter. To do so drop them to free agency and then to European/International/ECHL leagues. Replace them with low potential overall Europeans/Internationals.
- Remove Rights to all current NHL prospects by finding them in the CHL or Europe. Drop them to free agency and then move them back to their junior team. If they are 18-20 years old they will re-enter the draft so it is important to lower them in potential to AHL Extra Forward and an overall of 59 or lower. This will cause them to not get drafted and retire young.
- Remove all current draft prospects such as Connor Bedard by lowering their potential/overall drastically and removing any xfactors if necessary.
- Remove all 70+ overall players or players with potential in free agency by moving them to European/International/ECHL leagues.
- Now load up franchise mode and check the free agent list, occasionally the game will drop more 70+ overall or good potential players to the free agent list so take note of who it drops.. usually guys between 70-75 overall such as Veini Vehvilainen. I tend to find most of the players that drop end up players from the DEL.
- Once you got that list of franchise mode free agents find and nerf all those players or move them to a league where they wont appear.
- Finally if you still have room for more players (max limit is 600 skaters, 200 goalies) give each team at least 1 depth skater and then you can make the rest draft prospects.
